Claim your listing

Your business is on this site because we compiled it from public sources, not because you asked to be. Claiming it is how you put your name behind the page: a verified badge telling travelers the details were confirmed by the business, and a direct line to us for anything that needs fixing.

What claiming gets you

Two things, both free. Deliberately short — we would rather name what you actually get than pad the list.

  • A verified badge on your page. A visible mark that the listing was confirmed by the business rather than assembled from public data. It is the one signal on this site that separates the two, and we are not charging for it.
  • A direct line for corrections. Wrong hours, an old phone number, a description that describes the place you were five years ago. Tell us and we fix it — no form to learn and no account to keep a password for.

We are also building a way for travelers to ask about availability from your page rather than being sent off to find you. Claimed listings are where those messages will go.

How we confirm it is really you

Not at face value. Otherwise a competitor, a former employee, or anyone with a grudge could take over your page.

We contact you using the details already published on the listing, not the details in the request: usually a call to the phone number on the page, or a reply to the email address or social account shown on it. You confirm, and we proceed.

If the listing has no usable contact details, an email from an address at your own website domain works. If there is no way to reach you through anything on the page, tell us and we will find a reasonable alternative. It is the same check we run before removing a listing — the full policy is in the terms.

What it costs, now and later

Claiming is free. No card, and no trial that turns into a bill.

There will be a paid tier later. What we expect to put in it: a full photo gallery, the additional detail fields a listing can carry, featured placement on category pages and in search results, and the view and click numbers your page generates. No prices yet, because we have not set any.

Two commitments in advance. Any paid placement carries a visible “Sponsored” label, and we will not sell ranking quietly. Being trusted more than a map full of ads is the only thing this directory has, and it is not worth trading.

You do not need to give a reason. We confirm it is you the same way described above, and remove the page — normally within 30 days. Email listings@costaricasurfing.guide with the business name and the town it is in, or read the full removal policy first.
